My teeth used to be crooked. I had to get braces around the 7th grade. I got them off 11th grade. Even with straight teeth, I still hated my teeth and the way they looked. I gave up on it. I couldn't get into the habit of wearing the retainer. My teeth shifted. It's not as bad as it was prior braces, but it's bad. I've managed to get my teeth to shift back enough to slip past the check-ups I have with my orthodonist, but I'm tired. I would hate to wear braces again. Is there any option for me?

HelloThanks for your question. As a general rule the space will close at a rate of 1 mm per month. Having said that I have seen faster movement and also slower movement. Either way the spaces will close just be patient , I'm sure the results will be worth it.Best of luck!
Thank you for your question.
Retainers are designed NOT to hurt. What you are describing needs to be addressed with your dentist and most likely can be easily corrected/adjusted in his office.
Good luck.
You have an orthopedic problem with the positions or the bones that hold the teeth. You upper jaw is too narrow locking your lower jaw back.Look for someone who can do a DNA Appliance for you.Do you also get chronic headaches or face pain?
