I had a tummy tuck March 15 2010. My scaring is healing great but I am not too pleased with the way my belly button is looking. The skin in my belly button is much darker than the rest of my body. Does my belly button look normal? What can I do to lighten it?

Treatment options for a darkened belly button (umbilicus) after tummy tuck

It depends on the cause of the darkened color of the umbilicus. Persistently red may be treated with IPL. Hyperpigmentation (PIH) may resolves with time or the use of anti-inflammatory agents. Retin-A, triamciniolone and steroids may be useful for melanocytic hyperpigmentation.
