I saw a commercial early this morning for the LSL and decided to investigate. I am considering having the procedure. I am glad I found this forum. I must say that I am disturbed by what I am reading in the way of how informed consents are obtained. Your consultation should be with the surgeon him/her self and the consent should be obtained AT THAT POINT. I am a registered nurse. By law, a physician MUST OBTAIN HIS/HER OWN CONSENT. If I, as a health care professional, am in the room when the physician explains the risks and benefits to the patient, and the patient consents to the procedure in my presence, then I may go back into the room with the paper to have it signed. The physician has already obtained the consent. I am merely the witness for the signature. Having said that, it is important that the physician document IN THE PROGRESS NOTES that all risks and benefits were explained and consent was obtained. The reason that in some cases the consent was signed just prior to the surgery is that the surgeon needed to obtain his/her own consent. HOWEVER, the fact that the patient had already been scheduled for the procedure implies consent and I find that extremely troubling. (Why would you schedule a procedure that consent was not already obtained for?) The bottom line is that patients need to assume some responsibiltiy and READ THE CONSENT. I have NEVER seen ANY physician verbally tell a patient EVERYTHING that is written in the consent. My take has always been that unless the patient reads the consent or the physician reads the consent to the patient ver batum, it is not a true INFORMED consent. Just my opinion. Read before you sign anything, no matter what type of legal document it is. As far as the procedure goes, I still have a lot of investigating to do.

My Aunt Fran had the LSL last April 06. Fran is 61 years old and is currently in most ads that you see on T.V. Once I saw the great results and spoke to her about the succeessful experience I called for my appointment in Long Island. I am booked for LSL in Nov. 07, with Dr. Roy.

You half scare me but half don't having had three cesarians and my scar is there but only because it's whiter than my belly. Maybe certain people scar differently. I'm going for this lift. I'm (UGH) 49, but I look way younger from my nose up. I don't need my eyes done, I have no wrinkles, I just have nose to mouth lines and I'm getting baggy under my chin. I don't have slack skin on my neck yet. I don't want toxins, and I don't want a full lift. I'm actually in good shape. I hate the fact that people say "are you sad?" "you look tired", etc. Marionette lines. I'm going for it but want, what all of us want to know, the price for just the lift with no lipo, no eye lifts, etc.

They deformed my earlobes, lied to me about what exactly the procedure was, a facelift, lied to me about the recovery time and results, etc. I am young and only had a bit of lax skin on my neck. I told the doctor I did not want my face touched. At that point he should have informed me that this was a facelift but he agreed that my face was flawless and I didn't need any work on my face BUT HE WENT ON TO PERFORM A FACELIFT ANYWAY. Also, and this is disturbing, an untrained office worker "performed" the consult which is unethical if not illegal in the State of New York. If this has happened to you contact the Office Of Professional Discipline in Albany. I just had scar revision surgery because the scaring was so painful and ugly and I could not sleep on my ears. It cost me $16,500 to fix this with a double board certified doctor who said he fixs LSL, "all week long."
