Lifestyle Lift recovery. How fast and normal results?

I had a Lifestyle Lift on July 12. Today, July 18.  I am still experiencing swelling and pain especially on my right ear. The swelling is very hard and is causing me discomfort when sleeping. Is this normal? How long does it really take to recover from the life style lift procedure? Do you have any reviews or comments regarding this procedure?

Ladies-- I did some research today about the Lifestyle Lift for a friend who's considering a face lift. The horror stories are, well, horrifying. I've tried to talk my friend into doing facial toning exercises to keep the face tight, but she says she can't be bothered. Over ten years ago, I ordered a video from an infomercial that taught these exercises. At first, I was diligent about doing them, but as I was ten years younger then, I didn't see a whole lot of results. Fast forward to now: For the past few years, I've been suffering with a jawbone infection that causes muscle spasms in that area. As I felt a profound need to stretch these muscles, I took out the old book that came with the video and began doing the exercises regularly, not to look younger, but to get myself out of pain. I was pretty faithful in doing them every day. As I was so distracted by my pain, I didn't notice that these exercises were actually working to tighten up the face! When I saw my mug in someone else's mirror after six weeks or so of doing them, I was positively startled at the results. The saggy chin was gone, and the jawline was so much tighter. Needless to say, I began doing the full roster of exercises since then, and while I may not have the results of full plastic surgery, there've been some MAJOR improvements. Just search the web for facial exercises. They're all over the place! Mary Ann

I paid refundable deposit and will see doctor in May in Santa Ana. Has anyone had recent experience there and long term positive results?

Thank you all! I almost made a big mistake. I also didn't know that all the positive comments are made from the lsl people. I knew it was too good to be true. My husband is a Dr. and he said there is no way you can get those results in an hour, and go back to work right away..I will age gracefully and wear alot of scarves!!!

Hi everybody, I had LSL done in june 06, including upper eyelids. The surgery was pretty painfull since the numbing shots barely worked on me-doctor told me that next time he would recommend go under. They were numbing it a lot thru the surgery. After the surgery they didn't give me antibiotics untill week later when I asked them for it because I had some light infection.First 2 days after were very painfull and NO pain pills.First week my eyes were almost shut-so swollen.2 weeks after I went to work, still eyes swolen, but no pain other than tightness around my neck and ears. Everytime I made sharp move w/my had I felt burning pain, it felt like the stiches might pop.Over next year it healed pretty good. Results were good and everybody noticed it. About 4-5 months ago I noticed little bumps in front of the ear, little tender it came and went and later got little pain in and two weeks ago in the morning I pressed on it and yellow stuff drained out, I cleaned it for next few days and noticed something like thread emerging out.I started to trim the thread only now(another week)you can see the whole stich is almost out!!It isn't as infected or swollen so I'm hoping in the week perhaps I could just cut the stitch out. But what if something hapen? What if the stitch is tangled somehow in? I guess I will call those people and ask. If I had another chance to do it I wouldn't,I would save money for normal facelift.I am about 90 % happy w/it.It is cheap compare to regular facelift and you get results but not dramatic ones.It feels like facial rejuvenation.I was 45 at the time of the surgery. Friend of mine thought about it but after she saw my ear now she said no way. The little bumps around the ears are barely visible, tightness gone and yes my earlobes are little different too,but not really something than stranger would notice.

Be very careful and get yourselves a surgeon. I had mine done over ten years ago, had my face rescuptured and got rid of the chin and for maintenence I get my fillers every two years but modestly. I look and feel young. My husband is against plastic surgery but he said this was one he agreed with. My whole face looks different. I had lipo on my chin and there are a few wrinkles there but i was 44 years old when i had it done. wear the chin strapped as much as possible. My friend didn't and she was ten years younger then me and she ended up having her face lifted. I look good and didn't need to cut any muscles yet and i am 54 years young...

I had my lift in E. Syracuse, NY on May 7, 2008. I also had upper eyelids, lower eye fat deposits remover and laser around the lower eyes to tighten up bags. It is now May 18 and I feel almost normal again. The first few days were rough - stayed mostly in a recliner chair with neck rest, ace wraps on and ice packs. Eye care was painful with cleaning and applying ointment often each day - that was the most painful part - where the laser was done. It has faded daily and is almost normal now. I got my sutures and staples out 1 wk after the surgery and my scars are very close to my ears and very fine. They are a bit longer than some I have seen but I just turned 60 and maybe had more to correct. One eye is still a little more swollen than the other but I am told this is normaland to give it time. Actually every day I look a little better.... I still sleep with my head elevated on a couple of pillows and wear the ace wrap at night and sometimes during the day if I am around the house. I sometimes use a cotton bandana folded about 3 inches wide under my chin and tie it at the top of my head. This is more comfortable. When I go out I wear darkish glasses and a scarf tied around under the back of my hairline. This covers the ear area where I still put a little ointment and tuck a gauze pad under the scarf to prevent it from getting sticky. I could just comb my hair over the ears bit since my hair is shoulder length, I have not done this yet. I can also wear a low ponytail and let the side hair cover my ears. I want to keep ointment on the scars for a while longer to help with healing so I have not done that.I am not wearing any make up yet. I did not tell anyone ex immediate family that I was having this done so it will be interesting to see if there are any reactions. My daughters all live out of state but will see them soon. Also I took photos before and during my healing and this is good to have as a record for yourself. I do look much better, I think.

Hi I just wanted everyone to know that my appointment to have it done was tomarrow morning, but i called and canceled it. I am getting charged an extra 150.00 but i don't care. You see i called this past friday because i really needed some questions that i needed an answer for. Well they said they would give him the message, but he was leaving early friday because he was moving.Ok so went all the long holiday weekend very nervous with questions and no answers. So today is tuesday and i called this morning again, they said he was in surgery but would call me after. No call, so at 1PM I CALLED AND CANCELED MY PRCEDURE FOR TOMARROW. I just told myself if he did not return my calls that would be it. I just am too concerned about the scarring, and the down time. And after the swelling goes down what if there is not that much improvement. I guess reading all the comments on here made me think twice. Im glad i found this website. My husband is happy that i am not having it done, he said he did not say anything to me because he thought that it was what i really wanted and it would make me happy. But deep inside he did not want it to happen. He said i don't need it. But of course they don't see what we see when we look in the mirror. I am from Ohio and was going to have it done in Independence. SOOO! I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE OUT THERE! Good luck to everyone!
