I had a Lifestyle Lift on July 12. Today, July 18. I am still experiencing swelling and pain especially on my right ear. The swelling is very hard and is causing me discomfort when sleeping. Is this normal? How long does it really take to recover from the life style lift procedure? Do you have any reviews or comments regarding this procedure?

To anyone considering the LL: be sure to read your contract. When you put a 10% deposit down, prior to meeting the doctor, you have 7 days to cancel and get your deposit refunded, that's seven days after the intial consultation. Just suppose you do not like the doctor who will be doing your procedure. So be sure to read what you sign.

Am grateful for everyone's comments. I had a lsl consultation several months ago and decided to hold off for awhile. Finally had worked up the courage to have the procedure done but after reading the comments on this site I will DEFINITELY NOT be going through with it!!! Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience with this company.

OK Now after reading all the comments about LSL I don't know if I really want to do this. Well, I am a bit scared. Could someone tell me how long this procedure is suppose to last. My main concern is my sagging neck. I don't need lipo it is not that bad but it does need a lift. So how many are for LSL???? I don't want to take the chance on a complete face lift by a plastic surgeon. I don't want to be put under because that really scares me. Thanks QM

Hi, I am scheduled for my lifestyle life in 2 weeks at the Plymouth Meeting location. Just the basic lift. I'm a little nervous after reading some of the responses. I was told it will last 5-7 years for the fee of $4000. I am diabetic, going to see my MD and will get his opionion. I am certain that I will ask for board certification. Please give my any info you can. Linda

I had my LSL on September 13.2007. It is almost one month later and looks fine; however, by some of the comments I have read, I am a little concerned on how long this is going to last. I would love some feedback from people who are post-op one year or more.

I watched the commercial on TV and thought, that is me! I went in for my consultation and everyone was very nice. I believed the commercial and when it said "like a dental procedure" I was up for that. My LSL was Sept. 11th, it turned out fine...my right ear is still a bit sore sometimes but you can see the scars at all. But I did learn a good lesson... it was plastic surgery and it was a totureous experience. The needles were hypedermic needles and they were long and it was extremely painful, nothing like the dentist. I WOULD NOT DO THIS AGAIN! I'd pay more money and have anesthesia if I ever had plastic surgery again. I found the commercial a gross misrepresentation of the actual procedure - I thought it was torture and I would not recommend it to anyone.

With the LSL, you can expect a scar starting about an inch above each ear, running inside or in front of the ear, behind the ear, and then down just behind the hairline as far as necessary (depending on how much lifting is needed). Most of the scar should be hidden behind the hairline and, if it is run inside the ear, that part too will be well-hidden. If neck liposuction is indicated, there will be an additional small scar below the chin where the cannula is inserted to vacuum and scrape out excess fat. The doctor will use a marker to map out a section of skin to be removed from each side the face. Once the mapped-out skin is excised, the remaining skin is stretched back toward each ear and sutured with permanent internal sutures and external sutures that will be removed later. When a face lift is performed under general anesthesia, the skin is typically peeled away from the face, repositioned and sutured. This results in more post-op pain and swelling, but can give more dramatic and longer-lasting results. As well, the internal sutures of an LSL have been known to poke through the skin as the face heals and swelling recedes. Another (much simpler) surgical procedure would be required to correct this. The Lifestyle Lift ads say, “Results are immediate, return to work quickly looking like you did 20 years ago.” Aftercare is so important with any plastic surgery, in my opinion it is irresponsible of LSL to minimize the trauma and recovery time required. Very few Lifestyle Lift patients can return to normal activities in less than a week. Two to three weeks is probably more the norm. After a face lift under general anesthesia, the patient is usually pretty out of it for several days, which may be a good thing. Rest, tight wrapping, minimal eating and talking all help insure the best possible result. The wrapping holds the skin tightly in its new location so it can firmly reattach and also minimizes swelling. Rest and minimal movement allow the body time and energy to heal itself. Better Business Bureau Complaint Against Lifestyle Lift Lifestyle Lift ads have come under fire by the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureaus. The Bureau alleges that the LSL claim “return to work quickly looking like you did … 20 years ago” is unsupported and that “quickly” is too vague and needs to be defined. As well, the Bureau points out that in the before photos the women have their chins tucked in; while in the after shots, theirs chins are lifted and jutting forward. And of course, they have no makeup in the before shots but are beautifully made up in the afters. The Lifestyle Lift company says it will take the Better Business Bureau’s recommendations into account in future advertising. The Bureau plans to monitor LSL ads for the suggested changes. If they are not forthcoming, Lifestyle Lift can be reported to the FTC for action.

I had the lifestyle lift in Dallas on July 26 and am very unhappy. Am going to make an appt. with a plastic surgeon to see if he can correct. The whole experience was bizarre. I was there from 12:30 until 7:30. I had the lift, necklift and lipo of the neck. Now my neck looks terrible from wrinkles which I didn't have before. No one could even tell the difference. The pain from the needles is not worth going to have it corrected by them.
