I had a Lifestyle Lift on July 12. Today, July 18. I am still experiencing swelling and pain especially on my right ear. The swelling is very hard and is causing me discomfort when sleeping. Is this normal? How long does it really take to recover from the life style lift procedure? Do you have any reviews or comments regarding this procedure?

I am 2 years post surgical It took about 4 months before I felt things looked 'normal' enough to go out 'not' covered up. The painful part of the recovery took about 6 weeks. 2 years post, I still have pain around my ears, especially if I have a sinus infection. I still have thick scars around my ears, and have 'stitches' that pop out from under my skin every so often.

Beware of making any downpayments to this company via Care Credit. I ended up not having the procedure done and not rescheduling it, however, they have refused to refund the initial $400 downpayment.

just watched the infomercial this morning. checked out my jawline and decided i still look good have a few years yet but googgled up lifelstyle lifts for grins anyway. this blog is so interesting i read the whole discussion. typically people who are happy will NOT post, and people who are unhappy will be actively looking for company (misery loves it, don't you know?) my objective opinion is that there will always be a pass/fail rate. if you judge purely on discussion threads such as this, you will read frm a higher percdentage of unhappy customers and less fm the satisfied ones-- for one thing the happy ones are all probably out living it up, enjoying their improved faces. if and when i am in need of this and ready for it, i will take a few precautions before signing a contract and paying a deposit, maybe ask for a copy of their malpractice insurance coverage, and generally find out answers to what-ifs upfront. i will also keep in mind that the body is a miracle machine with a zillion interacting and interconnected parts, cells and tissues that work or not work depending on each person's particular genes, biochemistry and bio-variables, etc. we are talking about interfering with nature in doing these procedures. so a fail rate is not just acceptable, it should be expected. the issue is what is that fail rate, and is it acceptable. like a good accountant would ask, what is the cost:benefit relationship. i would like to think LSL will take a few to address the business side of the complaints but i also take heart in knowing that LSL is still in business. the BBB, FBI, CIA, ADA, WHO, FDA, Bush Administration, and Lisa Madigan has not yet shut them down ;-) best to all. try smiling more, frowning less, it's free and easy. ayn

I had my LSL on March 19, 2007. I had swelling and pain for weeks afterwards. When I went in to have the stiches removed, I never got to see the doctor, even though I asked. The doctor never called me after the surgery either to find out if I was having any problems. It's been four months since my LSL and I still have slight swelling around my ears and they itch like crazy. I would NEVER do this again with these people. The operating room was not sterilized and I question the experience of the assistants, I don't think they are medically trained, only On the Job Trained. Yes, I do look better, I don't have my turkey neck anymore, but the cost and pain were not worth it. I think it's better to be asleep when this is done than awake, it's torture!

hi, my husband had the lsl July 12 and he is not doing too well. He had lipo under his chin and now he has some kind of lump on the left side under his chin. He also developed a large hematoma and the dr had to open his stitches and excavate the blood, drains were placed in and stayed for 3 days. He looks awful terrible bruising all the way down his chest. Has anyone had this "lump" we are going back to the dr and will find out more. ps he did take antibiotics and also 6 day pack of prendisone....I sure hope all this pain and misery ends up worth it.

I had the procedure done 5/24/07. Just 2 months later, there is very little difference between pre and post op surgery. I am terribly angry and very embarrassed. Friends and family told me not to have it done. That I was a beautiful woman and should leave my face alone. I am 53 years old and really felt that I needed a lift for the bottom third of my face. The surgeon told me I was an excellent candidate and even showed me in a mirror (he pulled up my face) what I could expect to look like after the surgery. It took me nearly a year of making and breaking appointments, before I decided to have this done. This was not done on impulse. After the initial bruising and swelling went down (approx. 2 weeks post op), I felt wonderful and knew I looked great. Everyone was impressed! Friends and co-workers were now very interested in the procedure for themselves. However, with each passing week, my face continues to sag, the jowls are coming back and I can feel the turkey neck returning. Now, everyone wants to know "what happened?". I told my surgeon I was unhappy with the results when he took my photos 6 weeks post op. The light and angles of the photos were manipulated (ie: looking straight ahead, rather than down as in the before pictures). My surgeon (in Fort Lauderdale) kept insisting I looked wonderful and that the changes were obvious. He hugged me and told me how beautiful I am. It's been 2 weeks since that meeting, and I can tell you, I am continuing to sag! I look like I have chewing tobacco between my gum and cheeks on both sides. The marionette lines are clearly there (again). My surgeon told me I could be injected with this, that, and the next thing in his private office for another couple of thousand dollars, but the results would be temporary, lasting from several months, to several years, depending on what formula he used and how much I was willing to pay. I can't begin to tell you how emotionally devastating this has been. I don't know what to do, but I think I need to consult with an attorney. I paid for a "product" which was not delivered.

I had the surgery done on July 19, 2007. I don't know why I didn't do some research before I had it done. My face is all swelling and I look terrible. I am super depressed. I am praying for it to heal. I wasn’t sure but I saw at the office some ladies that had it done and they looked good, so I decided to do it But now I wished had listen to my daughter, who told not to do it. I don't want anybody to look at me. If this doesn't heal and my face doesn't look better, I do not know if I will want to live any longer.

I had a lsl 4 weeks ago. I continue to have a horrible feeling from ear to ear and across my throat giving me a gagging sensation. My doctor just says "it will go away". Has anyone else experienced this and if so how much longer do I have to endure this? Can it be losened? Is it the permanent stitching they do? Is it just that the muscles have not relaxed yet?

Yes, the commercial looks enticing, and I guess it's no surprise that something which looks too good to be true is indeed. It seemed very strange to me that in a half-hour infomercial, they didn't even begin to describe the actual PROCEDURE, so I ended up here looking for details. My heart goes out to all of you who have had your faces butchered by these jerks! I'd bet that the commissioned, white-coated "consultants" have no medical training whatsoever. As I've been reading, it's struck me that a skilled, reputable plastic surgeon probably has more business than he can handle just via word of mouth from satisfied patients. The fact that these guys are selling their McSurgery on late-night TV, as though it were floor wax or The Amazing Pocket Fisherman, should be a red flag in itself. Never, ever have I seen a heart surgeon or an oncologist pimping himself on an infomercial, and if I did, he'd be the last physician I'd want working on me.

I had the LSL on June 29 and I've written here before, I enjoy checking once a week or so to see what people have to say, you can't be sure if some of these people actually had the procedure done or what, I find it hard...impossible, to believe that in 2-3 days someone can go to work and go back to normal, I guess anything is possible. I am healthy, normal weight, known to be a fast healer, as told to me by my regular M.D., from other minor problems, and I followed the directions-post-op to the letter, its been 5 weeks, the swelling has improved gradually, I'm still numb around the ears, the lumps behind my ears are going down slowly. I was told before the surgery I looked in my forties, I had no turkey neck, but i could see the skin loosening and minimal jowl movement, the doctor even said I should have good results, because I didn't have any major aging, ( which should have told me something), but i thought in 5 years, I would wish I would have done it, so I did. Since I am healing, several people thought I was in my late thirties, as I said in my previous letters I just turned 55 and I wanted a rested refreshed look, that's what I'm getting, but it's taking time and it's still a process, I'm not in any pain, I am occasionally uncomfortable and the scars on my ears are fading, so for those of you who are considering it, it's your choice, everybody will look different, heal different, have different results, and the worse case is it may not work at all for you... if i had to do it again, I don't think I would eventhough i think it's working. I think one of the most important things is to check out the doctor and the place. Good luck to those of you who decide to go for it.
