Levulan Treatment for Perioral Dermatitis?

I have perioral dermatitis that is not responding to doxycycline like I have hoped (45 days in). It has definitely lessened, but it is not completely clear. I want to do a levulan treatment but I'm nervous it will make it worse. I also have a tendency to hyperpigment easily, & heard it's a side effect of levulan. Or maybe I should just do the venus laser or a 70% glycolic peel? So far, retin A has made it worse & lyra laser w/PDT has not helped. I need some advice, thank you!
