Previously had a Tummy Tuck six years ago. CT report says:Left posterolateral abdominal wall bullet wound without definite abdominal or pelvic visceral injury despite involvement of the left posterolateral abdominal wall and paraspinal musculature with traumatic fat-containing hernia; no significant hematoma. Can this be repaired?

Traumatic injury

If you have a hernia as you mention by report, this should be evaluated most likely by a general surgeon to get an idea of what needs to be done.

Hernia repair in patient with prior abdominoplasty

The hernia will likely have to be evaluated by a general surgeon. Technically this could likely be repaired laparascopically, if warranted,  and your prior history of abdominoplasty should not be an issue.

Hernia after tummy tuck

Hernia's after a tummy tuck are rare.  The tummy tuck surgery strengthens your abdominal wall because it actually tightens the loose fascia by suture technique.  Your individual situation must be evaluated in person with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Bullet wound after Abdominoplasty

Your previous abdominoplasty will not affect he repair of your current condition. However, your condition is to complex to discuss on this forum.  You really need an in-person consultation with a plastic surgeon and a general surgeon to evaluate your scans and plan any repair if necessary.   Good Luck.

Yes most likely but more info is needed and to see the scan. Seek in person opinions. From MIAMI Dr. Darryl J. Blinski

CT and Hernia

It sounds like you do have a hernia as a result of your injury.  While plastic surgeons are occasionally asked to help general suregeons with hernia repair, the vast majority of them are repaired by general surgeons.  Find a local general surgeon that is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  This assures you have a well trained general surgeon that is in good standing with his peers.

Abdominal hernia

If the CT scan shows a hernia, you may want to see the general surgeon (or trauma surgeon) who treated you for the injury that caused it. This is a rare location for  hernia and a physical exam should be done.
