LED Skin Treatment: Q&A
Ask a Question
Do at Home Light Therapies Like Baby Quasar Work?
I have acne and have been on Retin-A for years. I have tried accutane and I was wondering if the Baby Quasar was worth the money. It sounds wonderful, but is it too good to be true?

Home Light Therapies and Acne
It is unlikely that if Accutane didn't clear your acne that any home light-based device will. These home light devices may be helpful when used in conjunction with other treatments, but should not be relied upon as stand alone treatments. If your acne is anything more than very mild, I would not spend the money.

In my 20's, I developed this horrible acne on my cheeks and neck. Retin-A chapped my skin, made it red, burt did not clear the acne. Accutane made me sick. What finally worked (in less than 2 weeks) were sessions in a UV tanning bed.
Yes, I found that tanning helped clear up my skin a ton too. However, I definitely noticed my skin was aging very quickly as a result, and I was developing uneven skin tone and more freckling all over my body from it, that combined with knowing it can cause skin cancer I just didn't feel like the benefit was worth all the other negatives. :-/
