LED therapy for acne works by taking advantage of chemicals that the bacteria make in your hair follicle. We all make these chemicals, but the fact that the bacteria make them concentrates the chemical in the area where we want it, the follicle right next to the oil gland. The LED light causes a photochemical reaction injuring the oil gland and thus improving your acne. The Differin will not affect this at all, however, one could imagine a circumstance where topical antibiotics used for acne have removed the bacteria, thus there is no chemical for the LED light to work with.
