I am a 22 year old male with a name tattoo "SHAUN," 20cm long and 3cm wide, on my forearm for about more or less 2 years. I had a consult and the doctor said it can be removed in one quick and effective session where he will use more power on the laser. Should I go along with the procedure or what side effects will I be looking at?

Laser Tattoo Removal takes 5-15 sessions

Hi Shaun, We agree with Dr. Klein that one treatment will not be enough. We have seen tattoo removal take only 3 treatments in some cases, but unfortunately we are never able to predict which tattoos will respond most quickly and for you the expectation would be 5-15 treatments. If you undergo the procedures, expect them to take a lot more than 1 treatment. Good luck.

Tattoo removal always takes multiple sessions

Be afraid, be very afraid!  Anyone who says they can remove a tattoo with one laser session is either being dishonest or will burn your skin in doing so. It takes many sessions, usually 8-15 to remove most tattoos with laser.
