Resurfacing for darker and ethnic skin types

Being in Southern California, we treat many ethnic and darker skin types with certain resurfacing techniques.  Which laser works best ?  This is should be better answered with what are you trying to treat ?  Pigmentation?  Acne Scarring ?  Texture? Tightening?   Not one laser or "one size fits all"  just because a physician owns a particular device.  I would recommend a consultation to customize the appropiate recommendation that may be safe and effective for you !

Hi Andrea,

Fraxel restore laser is one of the best and most recommended laser skin resurfacing treatments for dark skin types with minimal down time. See an experienced physician. You will likely need a series of treatments spaced 3-4 weeks each, at very low settings. Your downtime should be 1 or 2 days of mild swelling and redness.

Good luck and be well.
