I have a small chin and jaw. The photos I provides are of me with my mouth shut and at rest. I have an overbite and am considering a chin implant to balance my features and because jaw surgery isn't affordable for me. Problem is that I'm getting skin darkening and irritation along one area that would be considered my DAO or marionette line. I also have a dimple like knotch that shows up when I purse my lips (which is often). What is happening that causes my skin to darken and dip in that area?

In general, it is not abnormal to have some tenderness 4 weeks after having a chin implant. I would recommend contacting your surgeon with any specific concerns, as he/she knows the details of your procedure and will be able to advise you. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.
If chin implants are inappropriate placed or the surgeon is unfamiliar with the anatomy these structures can be injured. If the tingling has subsided the pressure will also subside. You are only 4 weeks out from surgery.
