Wondering if a 480 UHP mentor silicone implant will give me the full c/small d look I'm going for. It matches my diameter numbers of 11.4-11.6. This implant is said to give 5.8 in projection. Im guessing this is in cm, correct? (Giving me around 2.3 inches in projection.) Is this a considerable amount? My PS did tell me I would receive the desired look due to my smaller frame with the UHP in the 480cc size. The vectra imaging at my consultation shows me about even on each side so that made me happy. Will the 480 UHP give me the desired size or should I go up in the implant? Augmentation is Sept 17th, Pre Op is Sept 12th.
Answer: Would a 480 UHP mentor silicone implant will give me the full c/small d look I'm going for? I do not recommend using UHP implants due to the possibility of the implant flipping - they look very un natural. I recommend using a high profile instead.

Answer: Would a 480 UHP mentor silicone implant will give me the full c/small d look I'm going for? The size that you want to achieve may be possible with a 480 cc ultra high profile based on the same make and style of bra that you are wearing. However your desired photo shows a wide-based breast with nice cleavage. My concern is that a moderate profile plus breast implant will give you a wider Fuller look that you seem to want. I suggest you revisit her plastic surgeon and discuss and show the photos that you want to achieve.

Answer: Implant size When choosing an implant size you will have to try on sizers at your visit or use computer generated technology to contribute to the discussion. Based on the photos you submitted it will increase the size enough to get you to that range. But implants are not exact in the sense that your cup size can be hard to determine

Answer: Would a 480 UHP mentor silicone implant will give me the full c/small d look I'm going for? Thank you for the question and good quality photographs. Based on your photographs, I think that you are starting at a good place and should have a very nice outcome with breast augmentation surgery. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "full C or small D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, best not to discuss your goals and/or judge the outcome of the procedure performed based on achieving a specific cup size. The use of computer imaging technology may also be very helpful during this communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery. I generally select appropriate breast implant size/profile after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers and viewing the patient's chest in the upright and supine positions. I hope this (and the attached link) helps.

Answer: Implant Selection Thank you for your question. It is much better to accurately discuss implant volume and projection with an in office exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements/characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during the sizing process to guide you to a safe result for your chest wall and just as important, one that meets your end desires. The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can be very helpful to the patient and surgeon in achieving a safe and happy result. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill
