I just had a new crown put on a molar. I've had pain when I put pressure on the tooth and now my dentist says I need a root canal on the molar. Once the root canal is done I'll need another crown. Should I have to pay for the second crown? He didn't put a temporary crown on the molar after the prep and it was a week before he put the permanent crown on. The new crown was put on about three weeks ago.

It's possible to bond that tooth again to try for a better color match, but there is such a large composite filling there now that I don't think it's worth it long term. More bonding might work for a while, but at some point I think that tooth will need a crown.
