Excision and Radiation to Remove Keloid?

I have keloid on my chest, shoulders and back. I have tried Mederma, Cordran tape, silicone sheets, injections and Pulsed dye laser. Nothing has helped and my doctor is recommending cutting it out and then using radiation. Is this a good recommendation?
