Is the Katie Holmes hairstyle for me?
It looks so cute on Katie Holmes, but I don't know if the bob cut would look very good with my big forehead and heart-shaped face. Can someone breakdown for me what kind of hairstyles/cuts look best with different face shapes?

Katie Holmes' Haircut
The rules regarding which haircut to wear with what face shape have relaxed greatly over the years. It's really more about what kind of an image you want to project.
Besides having cut her hair off, Katie (or Tom) has completely changed the way she's dressing. She's sort of like the new Jackie-O, with her stunning clothes and oversized sunglasses.
That said, I love the bob haircut for so many reasons: it has limitless variations with bangs or layers around the face, it shows off a long neck, it strengthens any jaw line, it always looks clean and groomed, and it forces people to look at your face.
The biggest issue to consider with bangs, is "Will your hair line allow for it"? If you have hair that wants to part in the same spot, or a tough cowlick, it may not be an option for you. Or, you'll need to cut the bangs very deep and be willing to put some effort into blow drying them daily for Katie's look. The good thing about bangs is that they'll draw attention to your eyes and open up the area around your cheek bones.
If you have long hair and you're not sure if you're ready to make the plunge to shorter hair, stop at your local wig store and try on some different wigs. It won't cost you anything except a little time, and you might be pleasantly surprised by a look that you'd never have considered for yourself.
Katie H. or Anna W. A "bob" is classic shape
When in doubt - "bob" it out! A classic, 6-panel bob is such a classy, classic hairstyle. It is flattering on so many women. It looks trendy on Katie with a heavy fringes (bang) and Vogue Editor Anna W. sports a stong bob which has become her signature.
Big descions to make: if you have great eyes or eyebrows and you have a normal to high forehead, then a bob with bangs will work for you.
Face shapes with a shorter forehead will look good with a side part, or some layers around the face; having a soft angle cut into the front of the style.
