Did you like Juvederm or Radiesse for lip enhancement?
To enhance my thin lips, I had previously used cosmoplast. The results seemed to diminish after just the first month!! I now am deciding between radiesse and juvaderm. I have read that both are valid options but which one offers the longest results?
Lori,
I had a consultation with a plastic surgeons office. I had radiesse put in my upper lip by my M.D. The plastic surgeon said I could look more natural with an injection of juvederm. Have you ever helped anyone correct this look in the upper lip (due to radiesse)?
My upper lip is outlined and looks unnatural. I just want to look normal. Thank you for your time.

Dannielle..
The Dr should save the rest with your name on it..
Today..go home and massage the lumps.. squeeze them and'shape them.. that can happen on the first day..
I think the dental block can hurt as much as the injection..but no pain no gain.. if you drink then have a friend..take you for a margarita and use numbing cream..
I hope that your lip turns out ok and ask the dr about the unused portion.. was it a plastic surgeon or derm..
you have to check credentials.. and really define what you'expect.. report back.. hope it settles down..
I have Juvaderm injections ( 1cc) 5 days ago in my upper lip-- it is very uneven. One side of my lip is 2mm lower than the other... is this normal or can the Dr. even out this mess? I look like Marge Simpson.
Of the two, Juvederm is preferable and does pass the kiss test. Radiesse can cause permanent lumpiness and is not recommended (or approved). For more permanent lip augmentation, LiveFill is an option (untraumatized fascial fat grafts). This method also preverves the definition of the vermillion border.
I do not recommend using Radiesse in the lips. Cosmoplast is beautiful in the lip - especially to define the lip border. But you are right, it does not last very long. What I have found is that adding Juvederm to the body of the lip in combination with the Cosmoplast as a combined procedure looks fantastic and for some reason the Cosmoplast lasts longer.
Radiesse is great dermal filler but I would not recommend it for a lip augmentation since this product is too thick and tends to cause lumps formation in the lip area. Juvederm on another hand is much softer product and it gives much more natural results. It will last about 6-8 month depending on the amount used. I noticed that the clients who have 3-4 sessions with Juvederm over the period of one or two years tend to have much longer lasting results. I use Radiesse a lot for mid and lower face reshaping such as non-surgical nose reshaping, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jowls, chin augmentation, cheek augmentation, and facial lipoatrophy.
Radiesse is not good for the lips and I would not recommend it. Juvederm is a better option and less likely to have problems with later on. Radiesse is firm and you can get visible beading in the mucosa. Good luck.
hello everyone i would like to ask u for some advice. i had lip injection about 3 in a half years ago. i have no idea what i had injected, but im miserable. my top lip is huge and uneven. i kept hoping and believing it would go down but it hasnt. i literally look like a duck. ive secluded myself from soo much because i feel sooo funny looking. im soo tired of people staring at me. it has literally put me into depression. i believe maybe it could have turned into scar tissue. if u know any Dr that can help or any certain procedure i can have to help plz lemme know. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you and GOD BLESS
