Yes, Voluma is approved in the US as well as in Canada. It is available at licensed physician offices. Voluma has been specially formulated to restore facial volume lost over time and is the first of its kind. It is the only product available today that is specifically designed for this purpose.

Juvederm Voluma is now available in the US

I am happy to relate FDA approval of Juvederm Voluma within the United States.  The product is indicated for clients 21 years of age or older.  This hyaluronic acid is the first to be approved for mid face/cheek area.  Following full correction, research studies have shown the product to last up to 24 months.  Voluma is safe and does not require testing for allergy. The product has lidocaine 0.3% within it.  Voluma, when compared with other hyaluronic acids on the market, has increased cohesitivity and provides a beautiful natural lift to the cheek area.  This area usually loses volume with aging, therefore adding Voluma is anatomically correct and in addition, adds youthfulness to the face.  It is important to treat to full correction for the best result which may require one or several syringes.

Thank you,

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC, a product by Allergan, is a sterile, biodegradable, viscous injectable gel filler. It consists of hyaluronic acid (HA) formulated to a concentration of 20 mg/mL with 0.3% lidocaine. This facial filler restores age-related volume loss for up to 2 years in adults over the age of 21. Voluma is injected into the deeper tissues of the mid-face and cheeks to restore volume and fullness, giving a more youthful and smoother appearance. The gel is the first and only HA filler with lidocaine FDA-approved for this purpose. Voluma gained FDA approval in the United States on October 22, 2013 and available for use.

It is the first filler FDA-approved for adding volume to the midface and cheek and also the first hyaluronic acid to last 2 years. We are very excited to bring this product to Atlanta.

Sadly, Voluma is not yet FDA approved and available here in the US.  Hopefully it will be in the next year or so.  Until then, I use Perlane for shaping the cheeks and Radiesse to shape the jawline and chin.
