Juvederm side effects - discussion

My derm told me there's no difference between juvederm and restylane. She said both gave long lasting natural looking results for wrinkle treatment. but googled juvederm and their official site sure makes it sound more effective. Has anyone heard about Juvederm side effects?

I think juvederm has some pain reliever in it so it hurts a little less.. if you can get someone to drive you and ask the dr for a pain pill.. I am a baby..it hurts.. but it is worth it.. I agree.. just everyone do your research before doing eyes.. I think human collagen is best for that but lasts the least.. but better than lumps that you can really see..

Thes procedures can be almost completely pain free. If your injector knows how to do a proper dental block, (most plastics and dermatologic surgeons are excellent at this) injections around the lower eyes ,lips and mouth area are absolutely painless, 100%. The dental block does require little discomfort to achieve (a 1 out of 10) then by definition your nerves on the mid and lower face centrally are completeley blocked and only pressure will be felt, nothing sharp nothing painful with these injections. Also mixing the product with a little local anesthetic such as lidocaine can also provide some relief, but none of the current product in the hyaluronic acid category have premixed (from the manufacturer) numbing medicine...not yet at least. Other alternatives are numbing creams or ice both of which can do pretty well but carry other risks such as allergies to the numbing cream, particularly if you use a non-lidocaine product and have had allergic reactions to novacaine (dental numbing medicine)then these should be avoided.

I had 1 syringe of juvederm injected in my top and bottom lips 7 months ago. It worked well, no lumps, no bruising, only minor swelling for one day. I had it done at an instant care clinic not a plastic surgeon or anything. My lips were great, but now they're back to what they were and I will need to get another injection.

My Experience and those of many of my colleagues (yours as well) is that Juvederm does not last as long as reported (1 year) in many patients. Although the ads may say something different they are based on poor data and do not stand up to rigorous science. So all we really have is experience and from my personal experince , many people have long lasting results with Restylane in the lips , I have several patients 2 years out with Restylane product remaining and have not needed a touch up!!

My guess is no they will not charge you anything , but you must follow up with them on this issue and if product is placed incorrectly and they are trained enough to know that it is, then they should be able to do this for you. Otherwise, find another dermatologists in town who will help. But it is best to always give the original injector the chance to do the right thing if you still trust in them and they are in fact well-trained (this is the key).

well i went back to my injector and she agreed that my lip looked uneven but goes on to explain that this happens sometimes....that i should continue to massage.....she also offered to inject w/ more...i told her that i could absolutely not pay more money for her mistake....she said normally i would have to pay but since it was my first time she would see if she had any viles left over....she did..except it wasnt juvaderm it was restalyn....so she gave me a dental block on my bottom lip and injected me.....now my lips are perfectly even.........but this was a lot of worrying...im not sure if i'll do it again.......i also had the lines around my mouth......one side of the juvaderm has settled in a weird place and not in the crease......what do i do about this?...has anyone else gone through all this drama?
