Eyelid Bag Surgery after Juvederm Treatment

Hi debbieW, Hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, etc) have been used for non-surgical lower eyelid bag improvement. The procedure is performed in the office with immediate results. However, when the treatment results in an undesired appearance, the material can be removed with another injection. Hyaluronidase injection will help improve Juvederm bags quickly, avoiding the need of eyelid surgery. Only after a comprehensive evaluation can a specialist help determine... more

Juvederm bags under the eyes are easily treated

I would agree with the panel - hyaluronidase injection will correct Juvederm bags overnight - there is absolutely no need for surgery.

Restylane Injections for facial contouring, Juvederm, #restylane, #injections, #aging, #beauty

Dear DebbieW Thank you for your question.  Please consult a physician that does Restylane or Juvederm injections- Particularly with a large experience around the eyes.  The product that was placed can be removed with Hyaluronidase- like Amphadase, Hydase, Hylenex, Vitrase- be sure to have a skin test before this is administered. With Warm Regards, Trevor M Born MD

A small injection will probably remove your Juvederm lower lid "bag"

Because Juvederm has a syrup consistency, it can migrate or "pool" and cause a "bag" when injected into the lower lids. Please, please don't have surgery to correct this without first trying hyaluronidase!! A tiny injection of hyaluronidase (an enzyme that dissolves the Juvederm) is probably all you need. The bag will be gone overnight!

Eyelid Surgery to Correct Eye Bags Caused By Juvederm

From your description eyelid surgery will not fix the problem. It sounds like Juvederm is too superficial on the skin, and the fat too be removed is in a deeper compartment, thus removing the fat will still leave the Juvederm where it sounds like it is. I agree with other posts, try Hyaluronudase. Best of luck Dr Siegel

Please send picture

I believe there some concerns about your lower eyes that you had Juvaderm for it. It I'd possible to place the Juvaderm too close to the eye snd exagurate the lower eye bags. The best treatment is to use hyaluronidase to dissolve Juvaderm and then get consultation for further treatment.

Eyelid bags caused by juvederm

It is not clear to me if the juvederm created this problem or simply made it more noticeable to you. When too much juvederm is placed in the lower lid or it is placed too close to the skin surface it will be a noticealbe fullness. This can be corrected with injection of an enzyme which will dissolve the juvederm. Surgery is not necessary to correct a problem caused by juvederm. If the juvederm made a lower lid problem more obvious then surgical correction of the lower lid may be... more

Please don't have surgery for bags caused by Juvederm.

Debbie Don't try to fix this problem with surgery.  If your issue was caused by Juvederm placed 2 months ago, the answer is treatment with the enzyme hyauronidase.  It will break down the filler.  If your bags were caused by the filler, then this treatment will most likely resolve the issue.  However, if the Juvederm did not actually make the bags but simply made them worse, then the initial treatment is still injections with the enzyme that breaks down the filler... more

Puffiness after Juvederm

Juvederm is a temporary filler. I would not recommend eyelid surgery to correct a temporary filler problem. You can use hyaluronidase enzyme to dissolve the filler or be patient for 6-12 months.

Hyaluronidase for Puffiness after Juvederm Injection

Debbie, I am an eyelid surgeon in Denver and patients come to me for surgery to fix this problem regularly.  I recommend Hyaluronidase injection and not surgery.  I have performed Hyaluronidase injection for this problem with excellent results even a year after Juvederm injection.

EYELID SWELLING POST-INJECTION WITH JUVEDERM

Hi Debbie, This is a fairly easy problem to correct.  Juvederm is made up of hyaluronic acid. There is an enzyme that can be injected to dissolve the Juvederm.  It is called hyauronidase.  This is a simple injection which should resolve the swelling in 24 to 48 hours.  I recommend you have the procedure performed by your plastic surgeon.
