I was referred to a plastic surgeon by a dermatologist to remove 2 facial moles. The derm charged $100 for the office visit. I called local plastic surgeons & none will do consults without charging $100+, with costs estimated at $1500+ for excision of both moles. I would like to meet the surgeon, know the procedure, scar size, recovery time, cost, etc. before walking in the door for removal. Derm or Plastic Surgeon? Are these costs normal for a small city in the South? Shaving vs Excision. Help.
