Jaw Surgery or Chin Augmentation?

I'm having re-treatment for braces for only 4-6 months to bring my front 4 teeth back to where they belong, due to a tongue settlement when I didn't wear my retainer for a yr. Ortho suggest I keep them on for a year and do jaw surgery 6 months in to improve my profile. But I have been looking into chin augmentation also. It seems less messy, if you know what I mean. What would you suggest?
