Jaw Surgery and Implants- How Much Pain Should I Expect?

i am 19 years old and going for an jaw surgery i has an overbite .doctor has said my jaw will be operated and tightened with screw and bolts.i want to know that is this painfull for whole of my life or problem will be for sometime and after that i can live normally.
