Double Mastectomy with Immediate Reconstruction, Why Does the Shelf/sling Still Hurt and How Long Will It Last?
I sounds as if you are referring to reconstruction with a biological (a dermal sheet such as Alloderm, Strattice, Flex HD etc). At the present, you are feeling the pull of the hammock at its insertion site along the breast fold. The discomfort you are describing takes a while to resolve and will do so once the hammock made of this biological material (which literally cradles and holds the implant) is fully integrated by scar tissue and blood vessels into your breast tissues. The process takes a while and varies from person to person as well as with the material used.
