Itchy Scar - 12 Days Post Op Tummy Tuck?
I had a tummy tuck on July 9th and my scars are so itchy they are driving me crazy! Is there anything I can put on the scar?

Itching along a scar
Itchiness can be a sign of inflammation or allergy or infection. I would first evaluate your scar and determine if any of these are active problems. Appropriate action is then necessary.

Make sure that you do not have anything on your incisions. I have seen a number of patients react to the steri strips, tape or ointment...Then check with your surgeon before putting anything new on...Buy pretty common...

Hello
Itchiness is very normal after surgery, you can take Antihistamines (Claritin, Benadryl) the nerves are regenerating and it takes months for that to happen. You should follow up with your PS to inform him what you’re going through.

Itching after tummy tuck
It isn't unusual for patients to have that itchy sensation after surgery but see your plastic surgeon before applying any topical meds.
