Thank you Dr. Shafer for your informative answer. It was very helpful. I should have mentioned that the area to be injected was the "parenthesis" surrounding the area between the nose and the mouth.

The answer depends on the area you want filler to be injected. If the skin in the area you want treatment is thick, the you can do it with a very good chance to get excellent results. If the skin is thin, then results may be not as good as you want them to be. Bottom line: threat the areas with thick skin and avoid the areas with thin skin. Cosmetics can help, if you still have bruises in 3 weeks, which is unlikely though. Good luck!

My patients are routinely put on Arnica, a homeopathic agent, to reduce bruising. I prefer the oral to the topical. You can get this at a health food store, or your practitioner may offer it in her office. Try to start a day or so before the injections. Good Luck!! Linda Quinn, MD
