Is it okay to take glucosamine after rhinoplasty?
I had a nose job done years ago, where some cartilage in my nose was removed or reshaped. I wanted to take glucosamine for my joints, but heard that it repairs and regrows cartilage, and am afraid it will alter my nose job.
Will glucosamine undo my nose job and regrow cartilage in my nose?

Glucosamine won't undo your nose job.
From what we know about glucosamine through the FDA, glucosamine may have a mild effect on joint cartilage (hyaline cartilage). This same type of cartilage (hylaine) also happens to be present in the septum of your nose.
Now, the studies performed and presented to the FDA were on the joints of the body and not the nose, and they purport glucosamine to slow the degradation of cartilage, not to rebuild it. Glucosamine is also thought to increase levels of chondroitin sulfate, another substance often taken to help joints. Chondroitin sulfate, like glucosamine, is purported to slow degradation as opposed to regrow cartilage. So taking these two substances will hopefully make your joints last longer, but unlikely rebuild them. Likewise, the same could be implied for your nose.
Overall, it is extremely unlikely that any perceivable effect will occur to your nose - but hopefully you will feel it in your joints!
