IPL Hair Reduction Not Advisable for Someone with PCOS?

I just bought Boots IPL hair reduction system, but it says that if you have PCOS, you should not use it. Why is this?

IPL in PCOS patients

The point here is that if you have PCOS, you need to be assessed by a physician and likely will undergo hormonal treatment (e.g. oral contraceptive pill) which will not only help the PCOS, but also minimize acne and excess hair. If the PCOS is not managed, a patient with PCOS will have to use the IPL for life as the root cause of the excess hair is not being dealt with.
