I Have Old Unused Invisalign Tray, Can I Start Them On My Own Without Professional Supervision?

I got invisalines in the mid 2000's. I ended up having a big falling out with my ortho and he signed all of the aligners over to me in 2006. I haven't worn them because I moved out of state and don't have dental insurance. I was wondering if I could start wearing the trays and change them on my own with out a dental professionals supervision? I know that they have improved invisalines and that if I were to get them again I would probably need 1/2 the trays (I have 40) but I don't have the money.

Old invisalign tray

I wouldn't start it w/o professional supervision. Your teeth may have moved since the trays were fabricated. It is likely you will have one of two problems - 1) the tray won't fir or 2) there will be excess forces that can be harmful or possibly both. It is worth it to find someone who will supervise your treatment because you could end up hurting yourself
