Insurance Pays for Close to $4,000 for Braces, Can I Use It for Veneers?

I am looking to get Veeners done on my teeth. I would like to cover all the top and bottom ones when I smile. My insurance pays $4,000.00 for braces and was wondering if I could use this to get Veneers instead? I have pretty straight teeth.

Use the ortho coverage for ortho...

Use the nice benefit you have for ortho to do a quick 5 month treatment with invisalign..then you'll most likely not need veneers..

Can I Use My Insurance Coverage for my Braces for Veneers?

Orthodontic insurance coverage is separate coverage on your dental insurance policy. You can not take money from one procedure and apply it to another procedure. Your are lucky you have ortho coverage, because all insurance plans do not have this benefit. If you do not like the idea of braces, ortho coverage does apply to invisalign, which is more esthetically pleasing than metal braces. Will Insurance Cover Veneers?

Your insurance company will not allow you to apply the $4000 of orthodontic coverage to the cost of having porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are an elective, cosmetic procedure for which there is almost always no insurance coverage.

Can veneers be paid by insurance

Orthodontic benefit is for orthodontic procedure. You can not use said benefits for other treatments. veneers generally are not covered by any dental insurance as they consider it cosmetics, not restorative.

No, you cannot use insurance benefit for braces to pay for veneers

This would be considered insurance fraud. Any dentist doing this can be liable even if the patient tell the dentist that it is OK to do it.

Can I use Orthodontic coverage for Veneers

No Orthodontic coverage is separate from your regular dental insurance and exclusive to orthodontics (including Invisalign though)

Insurance is strict on how it is used

If a benefit is available for a certain service, that is all that it can be used for. Some plans have language that excludes specific services, so to say one service was done and yet something else was truly done is called insurance fraud. Veneers are an elective treatment and will almost never have an insurance benefit. When there IS, it is due to a restorative need.

Can you use orthodontic benefits for veneers

Veneers will almost never be covered by insurance since they are a cosmetic treatment. In terms of using orthdontic benefits for veneers, that is not possible
