I am 19 years old, have uneven breasts, and overweight. Could my weight have anything to do with my uneven breasts? I don't remember having such a dramatic difference in cup size when I was in junior high. So I was wondering, if I lose weight, will they even out?
Answer: Does being overweight cause uneven breasts There are many variables to cause uneven breasts.Excessive weight loss or gain can be one of them, however, at age 19 you could still be experiencing hormonal changes to the breast and you may want to consider waiting another couple of years before considering revision surgery to correct the asymmetry using breast implants.

Answer: Uneven breasts and weight Breasts are made of glandular "milk-making" tissue and fat. The glandular tissue remains the same whether one gains or loses weight. The fat amount will fluctuate. It may be that gaining weight resulted in more fat preferentially going into the larger breast. My bet is that there will still be a visible asymmetry when you lose your weight.

Answer: Being overweight have anything to do with my uneven breast size There are many factors that can go into breast asymmetry. This can include the amount of breast tissue that is milk producing tissue that you have may be different from one breast to the other. The positioning of the breasts on the frame can also differ as can the underlying muscle. The presence of stretch marks may also make a difference. And yes the amount of fatty tissues in your breasts can also play a role, especially if you are overweight. However remember if you are young that the breasts are still developing. If the difference is not too large, it is always wise to allow the breasts to fully develop, usually by age 21 or 22. If your asymmetry is significant, you may wish to attempt weight loss and also have a consultation with an experienced surgeon.

Answer: Uneven breast size? Hello,Uneven breast volume or shape is very common. It is unlikely that weight gain has caused an asymmetry but it may make an existing difference more obvious to you. I recommend that you meet with a board certified Plastic Surgeon in person who will measure and recommend options for you. Sometimes, if the difference between breast sizes is large enough, your Plastic Surgeon may recommend two different sized implants. You will need to be seen in person to determine if this is the best option for you. All the best

Answer: Does me being overweight have anything to do with my uneven breast size? Thank you for your question. Most women have some degree of inherent asymmetry between their two breasts, whether in size, shape, or positioning. As a result, it is unlikely that your weight caused the uneven breasts, but weight gain can increase the degree of asymmetry. I would recommend you reach your goal weight, a weight that you feel comfortable at, and can maintain, and then judge your breast differences. If they are significant enough that you would want some correction, then speak to a board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation and discussion of your options.
