How Long Will my Breast Implants Feel Heavy? (photo)

After augmentation surgery, some women describe their breasts as feeling heavy or full. One woman said it felt as if there were two aliens on her chest. Women who have breastfed compare it to how they felt in the mornings when their breasts were full of milk and their baby hadn’t yet nursed.
The actual weight of the implants is minimal, but breasts do feel heavy as the skin stretches and the muscles heal. The good news is that at about five weeks after surgery, women say they are accustomed to the weight of their new breasts and can’t remember how they felt without implants. It’s not much different from adjusting to new glasses or contact lenses.

Thanks for your question and for the photos. Results look nice so far. Your complaint is not uncommon. A lot of the heaviness may be a mix of sensations that result from your surgery. The actual added weight from the implants is rather modest-about 10 ounces if these are 275 cc. 

This heavy sensation is almost always gone by four weeks.
