hi, i am 14 days post op from a full TT.one of my steri strip fell off at day 9 and since then the incision has been opened a little, aprox 1 inch..i can see white underneath*building tissue underneath my ps said? and tonight im seing another little spot opening up.this is releasing serous drainage, not a bright red.i saw my ps and he said to take showers every day and run water and put my abdominal pad..but the pad gets filled quickly . any suggestion on what to do??

Wound healing problems after abdominoplasty

The wound of an abdominopalsty can certainly open up after this large surgery. One is asking much of the body to heal this sort of injury. Wounds can open up but typically this will happen in the larger framed patient or a smoker or diabetic. There are many reasons that this could happen so consult with your board certified plastic surgeon.

Sounds like you had an area of dehiscence and you surgeon wants you to shower to keep it clean. Follow your surgeon's advice.

It sounds like you are having good advice from your doctor and this should heal up on its own. It doesn't sound like infection or tissue death from your description.
