Can I Improve the Appearance of a Old Scar?

I have a old scar that is 1 inch in length and 3-4 cm width wise on my knee. I cut it open when I was young and should have gotten stitches at that time but didn't. Only the appearance bothers me because it is purple reddish looking and would have not mind if it was just a fine white line. I tried the laser to improve the appearance a few years back, but really did not do anything. Are their any other options such as scar revision? Approxiately price range if possible?

Old scar
With such a wide scar, surgical scar revision (including z-plasty) may result in a more narrow scar and perhaps less noticeable. The goal would be improvement in the appearance of the scar and not "scar removal."
