Do Implants Have to Be Replaced Eventually No Matter What?

I have heard that implants have to be replaced no matter where it's at(chin, cheeks, jaw, breasts) because of biofilm. Whether or not something goes wrong, all implants develop biofilm and this results in its need to be replaced eventualyl whether its 20 or 40 years.

Breast Implant Replacement

No. While implants are medical devices that will break down over time. You will not need to replace or exchange unless there is a specific issue.

Do all implants eventually have to be replaced?

No. Biofilms are not completely understood but are now believed to be partly responsible for resistant problems with many types of implants if the implant becomes contaminated. The vast majority of patients who receive implants do very well for the rest of their life.

Removal/Replacement of Implants?

Thank you for the question. There is a lot of myths concerning the need for removal/replacement of implants. Implants do not necessarily have to be removed/replaced unless there is a specific reason to do so. I hope this helps.
