I had eyelid surgery 2 weeks ago and im stil applying vaseline on my eyelid everyday, is it good or bad for the incisions? Thank you.
Answer: 10 days is good enough beyond 10 days or even 14 days, using vaseline may help moisturize your eyelid skin but also can clog your pores. regular eyelid creams are fine after two weeks.if you like to minimize your surgical scar, use of Biocornium twice per day after the two weeks also should be helpful.

Answer: After Eyelid surgery, when should I stop applying vaseline to the incisions? Every plastic surgeon has their own protocol for postoperative wound care. I would give your surgeon's office a call to find out if its ok to stop applying vaseline to your eyelid incisions. Thanks for your question. Best wishes.

Answer: Ointment after eyelid surgery I advise my patients to keep an antibiotic ointment on scars until the incision is completely closed. Typically that is around 10-14 days post operatively. Once the scar is closed, you can use your usual moisturizer or eye cream .

Answer: Blepharoplasty postop At this point your stitches are probably out and you don't need to moisten them. Check with your surgeon and continue to follow your surgeon's postop instructions.

Answer: Applying ointment to surgical eyelid wound Here's another perspective from a dermatologic surgeon. I have my blepharoplasty patients apply ointment for just ten days. Vaseline is a very occlusive moisturizer and may give acne with prolonged use. After ten days is when I tend to start seeing problems with milia or acne from overuse of the ointment. After ten days is a good time to switch to a gentle eye cream or product like scar recovery gel by SkinMedica (which is even safe to put on the day after suture removal).
