I had ear otoplasty 5 weeks ago, the top part of my scar is reddish and really raised and the bottom of the scars(closer to the lobe) are white and very little raised but noticeable when I have my hair up. I heard it was good to ice the new scar after surgery. Is it good to ice it? Will it make it go down? What else can I do for my raised scars?

Re-opearing too soon is a mistake. It can take six months before all the tissues have healed to reveal the final result.
I have never seen a case where a re-do was not possible. However, no decisions can be made while healing still going on.

At 6 weeks a patient should be OK to start exercise. If you are having symtpoms of discomfort, it may be a sign of scarring or healing problems, consult with your surgeon ASAP.
