Hyperpigmentation Treatment for Sensitive Skin?

My face is very discolored and I think it's from years of using prescribed 4% Hydroquinone. Now my face is sensitive to anything I use and makes me two shades darker than my hand complexion which used to be the same as my face.

My doctor gave me Retin-A, but my skin is too sensitive, even sunscreen irritates me and makes me darker. I am afraid to use anything because I'm always getting a reaction from the products. Please help!
