How Hygenic is Laser Hair Removal? Are There Any Health Risks, Such As Contracting STDs?

I have had only 1 session so far of laser hair removal and where I live, technicians use the SOPRANO machine. My concern is: are there any risks of contracting herpes or other STDs, taking into account that this laser comes into direct contact with skin? Although the technicians assure me that it is hygenic and I have seen them clean the laser, are there any risks of contracting skin infections from others?? What cleaner should the laser be cleaned with to ensure sanitation? Thanks, H
