Why Does Hydroquinone Make my Skin Pink?

lastnight i started using 2% hydroquinone cream(other ingredients glycerl stearate, PEG-8, cetyl esters, mineral oil, cetyl alchohol, sodium sulfite, ascorbic acid, citric acid, methylparaben, fragrance)i have hyperpigmented acne scars on my face. last night after i washed my face, all i did was dab some on the scars then went to sleep. but wen i woke up this morning, after my bath when i looked at my face in the mirror the surrounding skin(around the scars) were pink & worse.......help me
