I am considering a Breast Lift (and augmentation) and a Tummy Tuck. I am very active and in good overall shape. I have 2 children one is 3 and one is 5 months .
My husband will be home with me for two weeks after the surgery. Will I be able to lift my baby if I rest up for the 2 weeks or should I seek additional support?
I don't allow my tummy tuck patients to lift any more than 5 or 10 pounds for 6 weeks after surgery. Many surgeons have different postoperative instructions regarding return to activities. You should ask your surgeon his/her restrictions when you go for a consultation, but I don't think that 2 weeks will be enough with a 5 month old. Good luck!
10 days to 2 weeks is the average time for recovery from tummy tuck and breast lift surgery. You may still feel like you had surgery, but you should be able to get back to most of your regular activities. It is good that you have someone to help during the first few weeks. Good luck with your surgery.

A: Recovery for breast lift with implants and tummy tuck
Breast lift (mastopexy) with implants and a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) are commonly performed together. The recovery will vary between patients but about 2 weeks is a good guide. Most of my patients return to work between 10-14 days after the procedure, as long as there is no lifting or manual labor involved. I usually advice my patients not to lift anything greater than 10 pounds for 6 weeks - this will allow the abdominal muscles and chest muscles to heal. You will have to check with your doctor about his/her specific restrictions. Your young child may be an issue - you will likely not be allowed to lift him/her, but they can be on your lap if they are handed to you. This may require you to have extra help at home during this recovery time.
You will recover from your breast surgery in just a few days. The tummy tuck is the limiting factor, but without complications, you shoud be able to lift your 5 month old in 2 weeks. That's certainly the experience of our patients.
Recoveirng from multiple surgeries may take a bit more out of you then doing one. However, doing both of these operations together is usually reasonable. I would say recovery to go back to routine activities would take about 2 weeks. Heavy lifting and exertion 4-6 weeks.
