Hi! I had my second Botox treatment 2 days ago. The first day, my left eyebrow felt drooping however, there was no visible difference between my left and right eyebrows. Today, the right side of my forehead feels tighter than the left. Will the sides balance out after 2 weeks or do I need to go back and have another injection to correct this sensation. It's very uncomfortable! Thanks!
Answer: Tightness on one side of face after Botox. Will the sides balance out after 2 weeks? Thank you for your question. You are early in your post procedure course. Usually the patient sees the start of the neuromodulators, (Botox Dysport, Xeomin), working at day 4. The fillers usually see some result early, but some modulation continues. In our office we have patients come back at 2 weeks for their check on their neuromodulator or filler. At that point, most of the swelling is usually down, and we have an idea of the result. This may be delayed if the patient has a bruise. Often, asymmetry can be improved. If you desire more volume, most practices would charge you, as they have to pay for the product, etc. Please make sure your well trained, experienced injector knows your current status.Jeffrey J. Answer: Tightness on one side of face after botox Thanks for your question. A treatment of botox that you had 2 days ago would be much too soon to judge a full result. Botox can take up to a week to show it's full affect. Best to follow-up with your injector in a week to evaluate. I wish you good luck.

Answer: Botox tightness Thank you for your question.Botox does not cause tightness, but rather paralysis which may be sensed as a tight feeling. It takes up to two weeks for the Botox to have it's full effect, so a touch up should not be done until that time. Don't worry, your asymmetrical sensations are quite common. Be patient.Best of luck.Dr. T

Answer: Botox actually prevents tightness. What you are experiencing is probably asymmetry and relaxation of the muscle and not so much tightness as Botox actually prevents tightness. Being asymmetric is common as the muscles on both sides of our face are not the same size or strength. It should balance out after two weeks, and if it doesn’t then possibly a touchup can be performed at that time.
