How Would You Reshape my Neck?

It is genetic and I am not sure if it is fat or tissue. Also, will it reoccur in a few years if I have the surgery?

Procedures for improving profile

There are a number of procedures that might help you. Liposuction could remove excess fat. Depending on your anatomy (whether the muscles are loose or not, whether the angle of the neck can be improved with tightening sutures, etc), tightening them with a platysma tightening procedure (we prefer the Neck-LaceTM), and a chin implant to improve the jawline all would improve things. If you are not at your ideal weight, weight loss will help as well. If it is possible to make lifestyle... more

#1 Reduce Excess Fat, #2 Evaluate Chin & Skin Tone

Natesgirl: We are all making judgments about a single photograph, and would probably have more to say after an in-person consultation. But here goes... The most important factor in improving your chin, neck, and jawline would be reduction of excess subcutaneous fat. If you are considering general weight loss, achieve your goal first before surgery. This would be the most effective intervention you could have. After that, surgical removal of fat would likely be done by suction lipectomy (lipos more

Laser assisted liposuction

You look to be young enough to still have excellent skin elasticity, and in this setting I feel the best altenative is laser assisted liposuction which I bleive gives a smoother result with the added benefit of increased skin retraction.  In my opinion you look too young for a necklift.

Steps to reshape the neck

Based on the photo it looks like a portion of the problem is excess fat. You look fairly young so the first thing I’d recommend is a consult with a qualified surgeon. From there I’d discuss options but highly recommend considering a fitness or diet program to achieve some weight loss before considering any other action. Once your weight goals have been met then we could discuss possible lipo treatments to further sculpt the appearance you desire. If... more

Neck reshaping

From the photograph you have provided, it looks like you are relatively young and have a lack of definition at the jawline and neck.  It looks like you have extra fat in these areas and would see a significant benefit from liposuction alone.  Liposuction would give you a much more contoured neck and jawline and has a quick recovery. The results are long lasting. I wouldn't recommend more invasive surgery such as a necklift at this time.

Neck rejuvenation

Of course and exam is the key, I would say just from the photo that you can use submentatl fat removal possibly with liposuction.

Neck contouring in stages

Anatomically, you look to have excess fat above and below the platysma muscle. Your skin and muscle appear intact, from what I can see. I suggest; 1- Neck liposuction as a first stage. Simple easy, but will only adddress the fat above the platysma. 2- when you get older and the platysma or skin becomes an issue, consider a neck procedure that includes surgical removal of the sub platysmal fat. but these procedures may be excessive for now.

Neck contour

Once the fat removal and reshaping of the neck has been performed the fat will not return. Fat is present both above and below the platysmal muscle and both need to be addressed. Contouring of the neck can be also performed with tightening of the platysma muscles in front above the Adam’s apple and behind at the jaw line to create a new jaw and neck line. In addition to the fat deposition in the neck and jawline, there is a weak chin that is present on the photograph, and a small... more

Either a neck lift with liposuction or liposuction alone

From the picture you look young based on your skin, so you have good elasticity. The answer to your question depends on how much improvement you want to obtain. Liposuction will certainly improve you profile and reduce a significant amount of fullness in your neck. Liposuction is a fast recovery,a few days and can be done under local anesthesia if desired. A neck lift involves liposuction and tightening of the muscles and probably fat removal from underneath the platysma muscle. In... more

Neck shaping

It appears that you would be improved by liposuction, possibly a small chin implant, and tightening of the upper neck muscles. The good news is that all this can be done through a small incision under the chin.

Consider a Combination of Procedures for Best Result

Multiple factors contribute to the genetically poor definition of the chin/neck region. 1. You have a weak chin. Chin enhancement with the help of a chin implant will greatly improve your profile. 2. Liposuction under chin and along the jaw line will further improve the contour but removing excess fat. 3. Further definition can be achieved with a comprehensive neck lift. Fat removal is always part of our neck lifts but can be done more thoroughly than with liposuction alone. In addition,... more
