How Many Liposuction Sessions Can Be Done on the Legs?
I have gained some weight back and unfortunately it goes right to my legs! I'm in the process of losing it again but it's just not budging from my legs! Is there a limit to the number of times I can have Liposuction done on my legs?

Multiple Liposuction Procedures Are Possible
With Liposuction, you can actually can have more than 1 session done. When liposuction
surgery is done obviously the fat underneath the skin surface is sucked out so it’s actually a
spot reduction of fat from certain areas like the thighs or the leg area, if weight is gained back
Those areas do have less fat cells there now, but this can increased in size and again balloon
up. If that happens a Liposuction can be done again. The factors to consider when you go in for

Get back to stable weight before repeating liposuction
It is possible to repeat liposuction multiple times, but it shouldn't be necessary. Since your thighs got bigger only after gaining weight, I would recommend waiting until you lose that weight before considering another liposuction procedure. Technically, liposuction becomes a little more difficult each time it's repeated because there is scar tissue from previous procedures.

Repeat liposuction on the legs
Liposuction is a safe, popular, and effective way to contour the body. Although it is possible to repeat liposuction on an area of the leg that has previously been treated, the effectiveness of the second liposuction will be limited by the amount of scar tissue under the skin. Keep in mind that liposuction is not for weight control but only to contour stubborn areas of fat. You may best be served by initiating a rigorous exercise regimen and a balanced low-fat diet than repeat sessions...

Lose the weight first
Repeat liposuction carries more risks in terms of having skin irregularities and dents. The leg is not a very forgiving are when it comes to liposuction. Any time i perform liposuction on a patient that had treatment before ,it is much harder.
The word of wisdom is to try to loose the weight and keep it. Before redoing the liposuction i would try to loose some of the weight you gained.
I hope this will help

Liposuction can be repeated
Repeat liposuctions are possible, but usually they are only a revision or touch up. If you need to have large areas resuctioned, then you are using it as a weight reduction technique which is wrong.
Often after lipo - with small weight gains, there may be residual lumps and bumps that can be corrected with a small touch up lipo under local.
Work on the weight loss plan first and re-visit your plastic surgeon later.

Liposuction should not be used as a form of weight loss but it can be done more than once.
Liposuction can be performed more than once in most areas. There is the trauma from the previous surgery and sometimes secondary liposuction encounters more fibrous (scar-like) tissue.
In our Santa Rosa plastic surgery office, we counsel our liposuction patients to not try to use liposuction as a form of weight loss. We also tell them that it is best for discrete areas in someone who is at a stable weight. Resorting to liposuction after weight gain can correct the immediate bulge, but it...

It is safe to repeat liposuction, but be sure you need it.
ToTXDiane,
Hi! In general, the improvement in SHAPE after liposuction tends to be very long lasting because we don't make new fat cells after adolescence. When we put on weight, the same number of fat cells get bigger. When we lose weight, the same number of fat cells shrink.
This means that the millions of fat cells that are removed with liposuction are permanently removed and don't come back. Of course you will get bigger everywhere when you put on weight, but the old pear shape...

Depends on what you do
If you have to do more than one liposuction session, it probably means you are not an ideal candidate. In your case, it might mean that your weight is not stable so you need to go back for more sessions each time you gain weight. This is not an appropriate use of liposuction and is liable to get you into trouble with contour irregualrities or other side effects or complications of the procedure. However, liposuction can also be performed in very limited fashion as is the case with...
