Today, like board-certified doctors, color manufacturers are conducting certification exams. A licensed hair colorist professional will go through a training period and take part in both written and practical exams in order to be passed.

Although going to a licensed professional is not a complete guarantee, it certainly should help ease your mind that the person working on your hair is well trained.
