In choosing your accessories, you need to make sure they will:

  • Highlight your features
  • Add colour and interest to solid/neutral clothing
  • Create different looks with the same garments
  • Update your clothes
  • Pull pieces of an outfit together, especially when wearing separates

The quality as well as quantity of the accessories is important – always "less is more". Don’t look too busy with too many accessories. One or two well-coordinated and good quality accessories make you look more elegant. Same idea for the perfume and lotion; "less is more".

Accessories are for updating a garment look, allowing you to create your unique style and polish your image.

A common error is when women “over accessorize” by wearing too many accessories all at once. It is never stylish, resulting in a very distracting and trashy look. Another mistake is seeing women wearing accessories such as shoes and a handbag that do not fit the style of the outfit.

Well-chosen accessories not only complete an outfit beautifully, but also draw the attention away from your figure challenges. Remember, accessories are meant to complement an outfit, not sabotage it.
