How Can I Darken my Skin Color?

My doctor prescribed me this skin lightening cream when I started breaking out into brown spots on random parts of my body. After I used it exactly as he told me to, it turned my skin white.

I am wondering if there is anything I can do or use to take off the lightened layer and get back to my original skin tone and color?
