Question

How can I make my lip color stay put?

I smoked for many years, and as a result, I have permanent pucker lines all around my lips.  When I wear lipstick or lip gloss, the color always bleeds into those little lines and looks just awful.  Is there any way to stop the color from bleeding, or am I condemned to wear nothing but colorless lip balm for the rest of my days?!

Kissproof Lips

Guys will love this! Men love the look of lipstick but hate the look of it on themselves.

Alas, there are some fabulous products on the market now that really do address the quest for kissproof lips. My faves are Maybelline and Revlon Colourstay - and they can be used in tandem. Senegence is another brand but too expensive for what you get.

The trick with Maybelline and Revlon is to apply a thin coat to clean lips, add the lip balm (preferred over the gloss) that comes with it 30 seconds later, or add another layer of colour for a more intense look and then add a third of a highlighter shade to make the lips pop, and top with the balm 30 seconds later. These lips will definitely last and outlast the competition.

But for those who prefer a more traditional wax lipstick, start with a lip pencil and fill in the entire lip. Then powder and apply your favourite lipstick, blot, powder and apply lipstick again. Top it off with a gloss or balm (keep it on the inside lower lip for the mature ingenue or for those with wrinkling around the lips) and voila kissable, luscious lips that last.
