I was a mild candidate for BSSO (I also had a Class II Malocclusion and Deep Bite), but wanted to avoid undergoing such a serious procedure. A TMJ dentist is treating me through orthodontics - by erupting the teeth and moving the bite forward slightly. However, the aesthetic impact is minimal. Can I achieve the desired profile, facial length, and lip position with a sliding genioplasty? Or should I have had the BSSO to address my functional and cosmetic concerns?

Your photo shows that,although you're not overweight, there are are localized areas of fat which move up over the jaw when you smile.It would helpful to see a photo from the side to determine if a chin Implant would improve your profile.The areas of fat can be corrected with liposuction.
